SIA License Renewal Requirements

By law any door supervisors who are due for renewal of their licence will need to train in both of the below units - 2 day course.

Level 2 Physical Intervention Training (Practical & Theory)

Safety Awareness for Door Supervisors (Theory)

This qualification is for those learners who already have a door supervisor licence and their licence has expired or about to expire. If you wish to renew your licence with Security Industry Authority you would be required to undergo refresher training. Once you qualify the training you would be able to renew your SIA door supervisor licence.

Upskilling Physical Intervention

The covers all aspects of workplace violence, leading to use of force. However, our PI course covers a wide range of topics, to conform to best practice standards of the security industry, as recommended by our partners and supervisory bodies.

The training covers the following topics:

  • The requirement to use non-physical skills as far as possible
  • The law in relation to "reasonable force" and "self-defence"
  • The value of assessing a situation before intervening
  • Using Physical Intervention as a last resort
  • Possible medical implications
  • The possible legal implications of the techniques

  • Disengagement techniques
  • Escorting and guiding skills
  • Holding skills
  • Counter terrorism issues
  • Holding skills
  • First aid situations
  • Legislation and requirements regarding children and young people

The door supervisor top up course is designed to equip you with the best skills and effective knowledge of an extensive set of security contexts.  This stands our students in good stead for securing employment within the security sector.

Assessment is through written assessment and practical techniques

Please note that we will need a copy of your prior certificate or SIA badge before you can sit the exam

No, this qualification is only meant for learners who already have a door supervisor licence. If you have a security guard licence you would be required to do the full door supervisor qualification.

Once we tell you that you have passed the exams, and then you can renew your door supervisor SIA licence
